Dr. Janet Kepley Smith graduated with her veterinarian's degree and certificate from Texas A&M University in 1972.  In 1977, she married Mr. Le Kepley.  They have four children together, all of whom are now grown.  Dr. Smith owned her own practice in Dallas, and after 25 years of running it, she and her husband moved to the East Texas area to establish a ranch.  With years of personal experience and a special interest in small ruminants (which include sheep, goats, and llamas), she raises both meat and dairy goats, sheep, and cows on their ranch, and of course has several smaller animals running around as well.

Dr. Smith worked in our Holly Lake branch from it's opening in 2005 to it's close in 2009.  She came back to the Hawkins Animal Clinic in the fall of 2010 and now works all day on Wednesdays performing surgeries and seeing appointments as a part of our weekly discount program.  With her continually growing reputation for her special interest in small ruminants, we are proud to have her!

Haley Williams, Receptionist/Assistant

Years at Practice: 9

Haley works up front as our receptionist and assists all areas here at the Hawkins Animal Clinic. She says the best part about her job is seeing the many types of animals that she would not be able to see at a regular veterinarian's office. "I have seen tigers, cougars, all types of snakes, and so many other exotic animals." While she is partial to our exotic patients, she enjoys all of our patients and their people.

Greta Halcumb, Veterinary Technician

Years at Practice: 8
Education: BS in Animal Science Stephen F. Austin State University

Greta is one of our technicians at Hawkins Animal Clinic. After graduation from SFA in 2009, with an Animal Science Degree, she joined the HPEAC team. She has always had a passion for working with animals, being raised on a dairy. She participated in Stephen F. Austin's Show Team showing pigs and beef cattle. "It is exciting to work with Dr. Hobbs on all of our animals, and it is fascinating to see Dr. Hobbs work on our exotic patients." Greta and her husband have one daughter and their two dogs, Chloe and Joey.

Jesse Worsham, Veterinary & Kennel Technician

Years at Practice: 3

Jesse joined our staff in 2015 as a Kennel Technician and has worked as one of our Veterinary Technicians since December 2015. He grew up around animals his entire life, from dogs and cats to livestock, reptiles and birds. Jesse likes to spend his free time with friends and family, gaming, and watching movies.
